First English Lab is a library of interactive English exercises. You open a worksheet, answer the questions, and see straight away which answers were right and which were not. Nothing is downloaded, nothing is printed, and you do not need an account to start.
Why we built it
Most English practice you find online is a PDF. You print it, you fill it in, and then you wait for someone to tell you whether you were right. By the time you find out, you have already forgotten why you chose that answer.
Everything here is checked the moment you answer, and most exercises explain the answer rather than only marking it. That short explanation is the part that makes the practice stick.
How the materials are made
Materials are built for real lessons first and published second. Each one is drafted, tried out in teaching, and reviewed before it appears in the free library. Every worksheet is labelled with a CEFR level from A1 to C2 and with the skill it practises, so you can tell before you open it whether it is the right size for you.
The library is still growing. Some levels and skills have more material than others, and new worksheets are added as they are written.
Free materials and teacher-assigned materials
The site has two halves. Free Materials is open to everyone — no account, no payment, no limit on how many you open. If you create a free account, the site remembers how far you got in each worksheet and lets you save the ones you want to come back to.
The second half is for students studying with a teacher. A teacher can assign specific worksheets to a specific student, group them into folders, see how the student did on each exercise, and leave comments on the work. Those materials appear under My Materials when the student signs in.
What it costs
The free library is free, and creating an account to save your progress is free. There is nothing to pay for at the moment and no card is asked for anywhere on the site.
